Volunteering
at LMC!
Volunteers
at Lutheran Memorial Camp are special people. They created
the camp in the 40's. Led Bible Studies in the 50's. Built
a pool in the 60's. They became Camp Grandparents in the 70's.
During the 80's they repaired. In the 90's they shared their
vision and in the new millenium they have been cooks, rock
movers, shingle layers and specialists. This list is not all
inclusive for any decade or time period. Volunteers have toiled
alongside to those called to ministry as a profession. LMC
can not move forward without the help of volunteers.
There are many ways to be involved!
* Help at during Festival Weekends.
* Write for the LMC Newsletter.
* Take pictures of events with either 35 mm or digital cameras.
* Join the forces gathering to build Spring Run Cottage.
* Volunteer a week at summer camp as a nurse, grandparent,
pastor, or as helping hands.
* Talk with your congregation and others about Outdoor Ministries
and the need for financial, in-kind, and volunteer support.
* Spend a couple years on the LMC Advisory Board or a committee.
* Trim trails. Spread wood chips. Split wood.
* Weed the garden, help harvest the Plowshare Crops.
* Lead a workshop for LMC campers.
* Share your ideas... This is a place where your input is
considered valuable!
Youth
Groups are encouraged to consider service projects such as
painting buildings, trimming and mulching trails, weeding
the gardens, serving at festival meals. The youth must be
accompanied by participating adults. Day projects are most
frequently available, overnights possible. Families often
find helping on the two festival weekends just the right amount
of work and play. Adults have many gifts and are available
at a variety of times. LMC will have your fill out a questionnaire
to help place you where you would be happy serving using the
skills you have.
